Everyone knows this verse:

Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

But no one seems to know these verses:

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

How do you explain that some of us know, and some don't??? These verses have nothing to do with Scofield...And you certainly don't need an interpreter to understand these simple verses...

It's quite simple. The Christians of Thessalonia, like all other Christians, know what they have to do to be prepared - obey Christ.

When the day comes those who have not been dutifully obeying Christ will be like someone surprised by a thief while those who have been dutifully obeying Christ will not be shocked or surprised.

They knew the day was coming sooner or later, so they live every day as if it were the day.

Which is the whole point of this parable:

"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Neither servant knew the hour when the master would return, but the good servant is not caught napping or unawares, while the evil servant is caught napping.

The difference is not that the good servant is more skilled at prognostication - the difference is that the good servant is doing what his master expects of him and the evil servant is not.

Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

This is one of my favorite ‘splitter’ verses. It’s a real fork in the road and separates the students from the lazy. Ever notice that this verse is used mostly as a club (by the lazy) swing at the students. But check this out.

Rosh HaShanah is known as ‘The Day No One Knows’ so when Yeshua dropped that line everyone (Jewish that is) knew exactly what He was talking about. And Rosh HaShanah is a two day holiday so it’s true I don’t know the day, but I do know the Feast. Check out…

Very excellent point. Have long thought that interesting.

The capacity of naysayers as well as rebels to seize on a phrase or a verse to justify their ignoring lists of other Scriptures has long been a sad but fascinating fact of human nature, it seems.
