I'm having trouble making any sense out of it, unless it's just a raid. There's no supply line, no flank protection, etc. The last thing they need is a bunch of surrounded paratroopers. It'd make some sense to cut off the Hezbollah retreat and their supply lines, but I don't see how the Israelis can support a long term effort this far north without some major ground action coming up the Syrian border post-haste.
So I'm thinking it's just a 'bang and boogie' exercise.
