I have not heard from my colleagues that live in Beirut. They may be dead but that is okay with a lot of our FR brethren. Collateral damage.

Look, Lebanon is the immediate source of all this killing. That country has been the host and haven of terrorists for years. Israel completely withdrew from Lebanon and still the Lebanese have practiced and facilitated terrorism. True, not all the Lebanese are complicit but the nation is at fault. Israel has warned the civilians to evacuate those cities from whence missiles are launched. Yes, there will be civilian casualties and collateral damage. It is the fault of the terrorists, just like in Iraq, just like in Afghanistan. I hope your colleagues are innocent and leave the war zone.

af is right about this. It is a tactic of the terrorists to get civilians killed. They hope to get people thinking from emotion. This is a situation in which there will be civilian casualties. It's not that people are callous to that, but that we can't let our abhorrence of such casualties prevent us and Israel and others that are going to have to fight these thugs from doing what is necessary.
