WOW! I have heard that it actually gets to 125 there.

The highest recorded temperature in the world is in Libya at 135.9; Death Valley, CA, is second with a record of 134.4. If it hits 125 in Iraq, that's more than 14 degrees higher than it was here and only 10-11 degrees below the Libya and Death Valley records. WOW!

Ghastly!

It does, although it hasn't hit that in Baghdad this summer.

I have a picture somewhere from the first summer I was here ('04) of our thermometer at Taji reading 139 in late July.
