"Like maybe the US, Poland, and Denmark?"
US is for Hezb. not much different than Israel, so can't be a part of "peacekeeping" forces. Poland doesn't have enough cash and Denmark is a small country. I heard that in Germany they discuss If should send in, but I think that they will use their sensitive relations with Jews as a good excuse to not do It or at best will send a few hundred troops. Spain and Italy with their lefty governments will rather not get seriously involved either. UK has already thousands in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. Only France and Turkey could send serious forces, then other European countries all together could add the rest. Anyway that will be possible only after Hezb. is withdrawn or destroyed. "NATO forces" could stop them from coming back, but they are not going to be involved in any real offensive war against them.

Then Israel can accept the deal, providing that Denmark, the US, and Poland make up the force...
...then the diplomats will boot it around for a few weeks, and then reject it. Which then starts the process all over again.
And in the meantime, Israel has a free hand to continue what it needs to do against Hizbollah.
Not a bad deal... to be able to look good on the diplomatic front AND still be able to kick Hizbollah's @ss.
:-P

Even the SPD-chief says that German soldiers in Lebanon are possible. Because Germany has so good relations with Israel we need to help them. The holocaust is not an excuse to provide help.
