Let me get this straight.
Syria was going to resupply Hezbollah using the Beirut International Airport?
Wouldn't it be simpler, cheaper and less conspicuous to drive a truck convoy, like the ones I've seen regularly here? Naaaaahhhh . . . .

Truck convoys can be easily seen and blasted from the air. Best wishes for you, rebel.

As stated earlier, stock up as much as you can on food and water. This will blow over in time and it will take a lot of time i suspect.
If you do not speak the language find someone that does.
If you find a good way out, you have a few snacks for your trip. If you don't find a good way out, you have food and water.
I hope you find a way out of there. It isnt a good place for an American right now.
I am sorry, and good luck.

I think the worry was that Hezbolah would pull the kidnapped soldiers out via an airliner.
Still, it would make more sense to seal the borders if that was their concern.
That, and it might be as simple as someone dusted off an old "Attack Lebanon" plan and it said hit the airports.
Your in our prayers. Keep your head down.

Hey Reb yell.... prior to the current conflict in Lebanon di you detect or sense a real disgust of Syria/Hizbullah by the local Lebanese? Could you elaborate a little on this from your perspective?
Also...prayers up for your safety...
