I would tend to agree. He was ahead of his time in terms of producing TV hit shows. He had a vision of what the public would watch and has a legacy of success to back it up.

Prayers sent for his soul. He had a lot of talent. I was very fond of some of his shows over the years. My sympathies to his family.

I remember that episode. The Ricardos, Fred and Ethyl were on their way to California and stopped in Bent Fork, TN and Aaron Spelling played a hillbilly and was really funny! Tennessee Ernie Ford was also in it.

Let's not forget that he created this classic, which was banned for being "too violent" in most markets:

...Live.com is awesome. Try the Bird's Eye view. ...I did. Awesome!
If you scroll up a little from Spellings house, you can see Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion. Didn't see any bunnies out at the pool, though. :-(

RIP Mr. Spelling.
"Hart to Hart" had great chemistry between Powers & Wagner.

Every day we complain about the plastic materialistic crud that hollywood puts on the air, rotting American childrens brains (e.g. everything Spelling productions ever made). Would you count 7th Heaven in that category? He put out some stuff that I would never watch, but that show was a good one.

Although I can't find this by Googling, I swear that I heard a Paul Harvey
"Rest Of The Story" he did on Spelling maybe 10 years ago.
IIRC, he came home to DFW on leave from the Army Air Force and as soon
as his mom opened the door and saw him, she immediately fainted and
dropped to the ground.
Turned out that she'd receieved a War Department telegram saying that Aaron
had been killed.
(I can't remember if he'd missed a flight on a plane that was lost in combat
or if it was just a military miscommunication)
