No i'm talking about ones coming in with no persmission of the US government.

The analogos situation would be the UN declaring America part of Mexico, and so thousands of Mexicans jump the border claiming their in America legally. Then demanding English be banned, and the power cut off to the United States until such time as the citizenry submit.

The South Ossetian government has never conceded to be part of Georgia; the Soviet DECREED it.

This is the second time in as many days you've given the nod to SOVIET decisions trumping the values on which our own nation was founded; the right of a people to self govern.

Mexicans illegally coming to the USA have no right to take a portion of our country.

I don't know the basis for the Soviet decision, but any concurrence would be of coincidence. I disagreed with Stalin's alliance with Hitler in 39, but agreed with Stalin's alliance with Britain and the USA later, that doesn't mean that I love Stalin.

I think that when you have small countries like Georgia with regions that include minority populations (not necessarily a majority in their own region) that dismembering that country may not be the best solution. Especially in South Ossetia where a significant number of Georgians live. The situation in Crimea has a stronger argument in favor of reassocation with Russia than these rather small number with small territories. Where do you draw the line? How small a land area and population before the country is destroyed? In Canada the Quebec Province has had two referendums on secession from Canada; both failed but the vote was close. If 51% of all the Quebec people vote for secession, is that enough, or is 51% of French Canadians enough?
