Presbyterian Terror

...... Which leads us to the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA). Two years ago PCUSA passed a resolution calling for "phased, selective divestment in multinational corporations operating in Israel." Apparently, this was not a resolution called for by the rank and file of the church, but by a number of radical left leaders.

Not content with the classic leftist divestment tactic, elements of PCUSA, from the Chicago Middle East Task Force, met with leaders of the terrorist organization Hizbullah in Lebanon.

Hizbullah, of course, is funded by Iran, does not recognize Israel’s existence, and is sworn to "the destruction of the Zionist entity." Hizbullah occupies southern Lebanon and has a vast army there with miles of elaborate bunkers and a huge arsenal of rockets trained on Israel’s major cities. Naturally, the fine folks of Hizbullah are Holocaust deniers (as are official state-sponsored Arab media in every single Arab country).

In 1994 there was a massive blast in the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires. One hundred Jews – men, women and children – were slaughtered, two-hundred and fifty gravely wounded. This terrorist atrocity was financed by Iranian intelligence and carried out by Hizbullah operatives.

The Argentine government recently released details of its investigation into another terror incident: the bombing of the Israeli Embassy on March 17, 1992, in which thirty people were killed and more than two hundred wounded. That bombing was also conducted by Iranian intelligence services, with Hizbullah playing a key role in its execution.

The Iranians are also responsible for designing and building the roadside bombs that are killing American soldiers in Iraq right now.

These are the people PCUSA has climbed into bed with. This is the organization PCUSA has aligned itself with: a notorious terrorist gang that kills Jews and Americans.

At a certain point, naive peaceniks cross a line and become terrorist enablers. The good news is that Kathy Leuckert, deputy executive associate director of the General Assembly Council, and Peter Sulyok, coordinator of the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy, were notified that they were no longer employed by the Presbyterian Church (USA).

The bad news is that Leuckert and Sulyok were just two of the staff leaders who went with twenty-two other Presbyterians on a "fact-finding" trip to the Middle East.

Allow me to speculate about the "facts" these distinguished theologians discovered in Lebanon: I think I’m safe in saying that half these "facts" are not true, and the other half are just outright lies.

And I’m being charitable here.

By the way, does anyone else get the funny feeling that people pushing for divestment from Israel believe more in the gospel according to Castro, Mao, Arafat, and Hugo Chavez than in the gospel according to Matthew, Mark Luke, and John?

Just a whacky thought.

During an interview with a Hizbullah-owned television station, Ron Stone, another honorable member of this distinguished delegation, said, "As an elder of our church, I’d like to say that, according to my recent experience, relations and conversations with Islamic leaders are a lot easier than dealings and dialogue with Jewish leaders."

We wish this young dog will go directly to hell.

Stone added: "Also, we praise your initiative for dialogue and mutual understanding. We cherish these statements that bring us closer to you. We treasure the precious words of Hizbullah and your expression of goodwill."

Even if you live in America the hand of Allah and the sword of Jihad will reach you.

Meanwhile, the divestment offensive marches on.

That elements in PCUSA consider Israel the aggressor in this conflict leaves us with only two conclusions about these so-called leaders: They are either the stupidest people on the face of the earth – or they are quite simply Jew haters.

I do not easily use the latter term, but when you single out the one democratic state in a sea of vile tyrannies – a state that for more than fifty years has sought peace with twenty two hostile, rejectionist neighbors in every manner, shape and form; a state that has granted one million Arabs full citizenship, whereas twenty-two Arab nations are Judenrein; a state that has been under political and military siege from the moment it was born; a state that has traded land for peace – when you single out this state and ignore the genocidal pronouncements of its enemies, and when this state happens to be the world’s only Jewish one, you can no longer hide behind the label of being "merely anti-Zionist." You have crossed the line into classic Jew-hatred.

Let us return to where we began, with the young and innocent martyr Daniel Wultz. May his memory be a blessing. May his family find comfort among the mourners of Zion.

The Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) General Assembly reconvenes on June 15 in Birmingham, AL. The divestment movement approved in 2004 will be on the agenda again. Be sure to contact your presbyterian friends to have them make their voices known to the commissioners that they want the Presbyterian Divestment Movement (PDM) stopped.

My hubby became Catholic, leaving a PCUSA church because of the wacky left-wing leaders.

My prayers are with them too. They they will see the errors of their ways.

My advice to presbyterians would have to be to find another religion. It's not like there's a shortage of protestant denominations....

My advice to presbyterians would have to be to find another religion. It's not like there's a shortage of protestant denominations....

But a lot of the so-called mainline protestant churches have wacked-out leftist leadership.

PCUSA is having a general assembly this summer, in June, and is going to attempt to put in some homosexual marriage through some back-door procedure. It will apparently let the local presbyteries decide things. Some churches may pull out of PCUSA, but apparently, PCUSA holds the local church property in trust, so it's hard for local churches to back out. There may be a flood of lawsuits about this. PCUSA is hemmoraging members, though. And its Louisville headquarters just had to lay off a large number of people. But on the whole, its leadership is pretty hard left.

From what I've read, the United Methodist Church has some leftism too (everyone does), but the demographics of the UMC has made its recognition of same-sex couples a near impossibility. Lots of southern members have driven this mainline church to not accept homosexual marriage. There was a recent case involving a lesbian pastor in Pennsylvania, in which a local UMC court said the minister could not be defrocked, but this was overturned by the national court. The northeast segment (I forget if it's a district or synod or whatever) is liberal, but it's not that important of a region. Another thing that the UMC has is that its general assembly or whatever it is includes African delegations, which tend to be quite conservative.

The Episcopalians seem like they've gone sort of nuts. Yeah, great, you've got a queer bishop... And not too many congregants in the church...

Lutherans: there's the ELCA, the more liberal segment, and the more conservative Missouri and Wisconsin synods (which don't just exist in those states). They've rejected homosexual marriage for now.

Anyway, the Presbyterians and Episcopalians are doing all that they can to become irrelevant. However, I'm sure that the downfall of these churches would be much more noticeable were it not for the sizable endowments and bequests these churches have. I've seen a few mainline churches that don't attract more than a handful of people every Sunday. But a few weeks ago, I went to a well attended Presbyterian church in New Canaan, CT, which is probably one of the five wealthiest towns in the country. Preacher big into Spong, William Sloane Coffin and environmentalism. How horrible it was that we were destroying the planet, and how the rich were controlling everything and that the disparity of wealth was such a tragedy. After the service was over, most of the people went out to the parking lot and got back into their Cadillac Escalade. While wearing some outfit that cost the same it would cost to feed a small African country. But I guess they can feel good that they go to "church" or something.

What's the point of going to church if the preacher is going to spout this leftist crap, and then throw out all the basic tenets of Christianity. I mean, I can watch Phil Donahue videos or listen to Air America or whatever, and not have to drive to church (thus destroying the environment or something), and get a clearer religious and political message.

Anyway, living in Connecticut, it's been hard to find a reasonable church to go to on Sunday. By this, I mean not going to a church where there's either 1) all these hokey repetitive songs with their lyrics on a giant videoscreen at the front of the church; 2) complete leftist dogma; 3) no child care (I have an 18 month old); or 4) a clueless pastor; 5) wacky theology.

One church we went to recently didn't have a leftist preacher, as far as I could tell. But rather clueless. For the kiddie sermon, they talked about putting their problems in a box so they could focus on Jesus or something like that. But for some reason, they decided to tape some yarn to this big cardboard box, and they called it -- I kid you not -- "the big hairy box" and then during the kid's sermon, the preacher kept talking about it. You may never know what we'll find in the big hairy box. They even printed this in the program ("Today's kid's sermon: the big hairy box").

Looking for a competent church in the northeast: it's been an adventure, I'll say that much.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts, and will turn away their ears from the truth and turn aside unto fables."

The Apostle Paul told Timothy about the modern apostate mainstream denominations 19 centuries ago. Any true believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ who are still in some of those denominations should get out before the faith of their kids and/or their entire families is corrupted and destroyed by the ungodly apostates who are in charge of those organizations. I won't call them churches because the Church is the Lord's body on earth and it has become quite apparent that both the leaders and a large portion of the clergy of those denominations have no part in Jesus Christ.

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ, He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."

Many of the mainline denominations deny that Jesus is the Christ. Not in so many words perhaps, but by their skepticism regarding His virgin birth, deity, and resurrection, and by their disbelief in divine inspiration of Holy Scripture. Among other things.
