BANK FRAUD - ALL GUILTY
FNC reporting Lay guilty on All Charges
Either way, I suspect that Skilling and Lay will go to jail for many, many years...
Lay and Skilling need to give their souls to Jesus, 'cuz their a$$es are going to belong to their cellmates...
Now, the question will be whether they have to file their appeals from prison or remain free on bond.
Knowing Judge Sims's history, they'll be in prison. Maybe not until the sentencing hearing, but immediately thereafter.
And an appeal won't do any good. We're in the 5th Circuit, not the 9th Circus.
Two thoroughly dislikable fellows- who I'm SURE are honestly shocked by this verdict. They were/are as out of touch with reality as the Senate.
Nuts.
I was kinda' hoping for not guilty. Not because of anything at Enron... but because it would be a slap in the face for the complete over-reaction that was the Sarbanes-Oxley act. SOX is the real danger, not Enron. Enron's damage is done. SOX continues its rot.
It was funny enough, I guess, that Arthur Anderson came out actually not guilty of destroying any evidence even after all that bad press . Too late to save the company... but sometimes a face slap is all you have.
Thanks for that beautiful visual!
