Angels and Demons was a better book than the Da Vinci code. As a Catholic, I should be offended, but Im not. These are stories and Brown is an excellent writer. I lived in Roma for three years and enjoyed the historical tidbits in Angels and Demons. I read about them and then looked them up for verification. Roma has the most fascinating history of any city in the world, IMHO. Keep it in context, folks, its fiction! Fiction that is being used by the "enemies of Christianity" to stir the pot. We have seen it many times before. Great stories, but they are nothing other than entertainment.

Donning asbestos now.. I guess no one thought it was worth the effort to reply to a fake Catholic.
No real Catholic would fail to be offended.

Well, it's slanderous fiction. It's generally bad taste to make up bad things about real people who are revered by billions. What would people say if someone made a movie portrying MLK as a child molestor for example?
Nevertheless, I agree with you that it's stupid to make a big deal out of it. The Church should simply issue a statement pointing out the historical innacuracies and leave it at that.
