I expect you being the great armchair patriot is currently packing your bags heading to the border to help the Has-Been Lasthour Men?"PUT UP A REAL WALL", I'm sure you're making out the check now? Go cry to your mamma! If I didn't have a heart condition that prohibits working much at all I would be heading for the border to help build the fence the minutemen are going for. Since I can't do the physical work I have donated money. As far as being "an armchair patriot" where were you during the Vietnam war? Are you in uniform now? I was fighting Americas enemies years ago when I could still move around freely, what were you doing?
I would be in uniform now if they would have me, and I stand by what I said and will say it again if need be.
I am voting 3rd party this year to voice my displeasure at the blindness and stupidity of the republican party as a whole, including Bush, except for a few exceptions for republicans that are not rinos.

You apparently missed the part where President Bush said they would help build fences, barriers, cameras, aerial surveillance, etc...Doesn't sound like sitting in an office to me?

A positive first step. Bush will end up doing more, much more. Not because he wants to, but because he has to.

Yea I served and in combat and God Bless your service. Now if only you can squeeze yourself out of that chair, do your patriotic duty and go vote your 3rd party? I believe President Bush is a compassionate Conservative but I kind of lost my compassion for those who just get on FR just to bash PRESIDENT Bush while ignoring the good.

What do you mean? Did he wear boxers instead of briefs? 'Cause he sure wasn't swinging on the issues....

It was just cover for trying to push through the old "guest worker", now called "temporary worker" program.

The centerpiece of the President's proposal is the largest illegal alien amnesty in history. Everything else is decoration.

He is going to create 12 million new US citizens out of 12 million criminals. That is not what he said at all.
To: RepublicNewbie
but we DEFINITELY agree there's a problem to be solved. The current likely to pass immigration proposals may bring more than 100 million new immigrants in the next 20 years (assuming the nation hasn't collapsed from disunity before then). Clearly someone doesn't see a problem, a lot of someones and many of them very powerful.
