Ok, here on FoxNews we have, oh abut 1000K people gathering in white t-shirts in Dallas. If you aren’t paying attention to this, you should be.
I am going to propose a heretical idea. We have 11 MILLION or so of these people who are HERE, and they are NOT going to be leaving soon. If even a third of those 11 million get even slightly militant, we have one VERY serious problem. VERY, VERY serious. Here is the idea: Against the strident advise of the all the lawmakers in Washington, we just give them all amnesty. Then the GOP leads the drive to register and assimilate these under grounders, get them English language, insurance, paying taxes, and all the legitimate trappings of being a US citizen. Why? Because then they will be LOYAL to us and the United States. Otherwise we have an occupying force on our shores, one that if it turned violent, oh man… I don’t even want to think about it.
The Rally is so far peaceful. And I hope it stays that way, but we have to address the problem, and fast. We all need to get on board with this simple fact, no matter what is done, there is NOT going to be a solution that makes anyone overly happy. Let’s just buckle down and do what NEEDS to be done rather than what we WANT done. If we don’t lead the way, then the Illegals WILL. That is NOT a pretty thought!

It would require a change in the state laws, so I don't think the judges would have much say about it. Of course they might, but it would be something to try, anyway. Something the states could do on their own, it wouldn't depend on the Feds. And as I say, it would go far to separate the hard working wheat from the criminal chaff.
As to your other post I entirely agree, but in fairness, only IF we did some kind of amnesty which was a "get out now to come back later" thing.
And as for increased penalties, how about the DP for "coyote" smugglers, that might make that "job" a lot less attractive.
To jocon's list at #24, I'd add:
MAKE SS CARDS TAMPER-PROOF. Contract the job out to Visa or Master Card if needed. Then employers can easily and reliably check legality of job applicants. And then they have no excuse to hire illegals (now their cry, justifiably, is that they can't tell when docs are forged).
CHANGE WELFARE LAWS (long-term) to favor those with jobs and penalize those who won't work. Currently the payments and bennies to welfare recipients are about the equal of a $20-per-hour job. For doing NOTHING. I'd let them keep the bennies (at least for awhile) and cut way down on any cash payments to able-bodied do-nothings. Then we'll have more Americans who ARE willing to do the JAWDs!
I think these would make YOUR suggestions more likely to succeed.

A bad sign of the times
I heard today that 20 years ago the Catholic Diocese had a total different stance on this
Combine it with the over-crowded prison system, make new prisons right along that 700 mi of borders! Let them try to get past the prison's, make a moat if ya have to!
Time for the DoJ to use R.I.C.O. statutes to shut down and arrest these organized criminal conspiracies to incite riots.
The FCC needs to immediately yank the licenses for any radio or TV station that they can show that used public air waves to incite riots or other illegal actions. Suspected stations should have their recent broadcast archive tapes impounded and reviewed by FCC auditors to determine if they violated FCC policy and/or Federal/State/Local laws.
Media coverage and security camera tapes should also be impounded to be used to identify individuals committing illegal acts, with a priority on those leading the illegal activities (especially known criminals.)
If any ambulances arrived to any hospital in a 5 mile radius of these illegal assemblies with a patient that died in route to the hospital, then those who lead and/or organized these illegal assemblies should be prosecuted for murder.
Come down hard on these people now or we will end up like France writ large.
