SENATOR SESSIONS ON SECURING AMERICA'S BORDERS ACT Mr. President, I thank Senator Leahy, ranking member on the Judiciary Committee. I have received just this afternoon in my office some disturbing news in the form of correspondence from the Congressional Budget Office. It suggests a number of areas where the amendment we are talking about here today, No. 3424, the immigration so-called compromise, violates our budget and the rules of the Senate. Let me read from the correspondence we have received. This is something, as you know, Mr. President, as a member of the Judiciary Committee, that we never discussed at all. It is not a matter we spent any time at all discussing as we moved forward with legislation which ultimately cleared that committee and came to the floor — legislation which I thought was not good legislation and which I opposed, and so did the Senator from Texas, who just relinquished the Chair. We didn't discuss the financial impact of the legislation before us. Stand Up For America !

So you are basically saying, there is nothing to talk other than full deportation? is not that I disagree with your position is that I think we will lose the the whole argument that way. Because we appear unreasonable and unrealistic. I would much rather get a commitment that the border would be secured and the flow stopped and THEN I would agree to consider different solutions. One of them, yes, a "guess worker" program in those areas where we need people to do those jobs (like picking up vegetables, the restaurant business, etc).

What's clearly over your head is that unlimited, uncontrolled inmmigration is not good for any society. It's impossible to absorb the entire world as you seem to be implying we must quietly and with a smile on our face do otherwise we're a bunch of redneck racists. I personally happen to believe legal immigration numbers are too high but having said that many would probably disagree with me if the government would simply get illegal immigration under control and stop with the amnesties. This dwarfs the Irish and Eastern European migrations of the mid 1800s...proportionately...dwarfs exponentially and we are no longer a frontier stealing the Indian's land as our NZ guest loves to point out.

So yes....folks like me would prefer a more limited immigration policy period....from wherever. But first we have to deal with the illegals issue which is enormous.

These "pro (illegal) immigration" rallies. Everyone is wearing white. What is their message here?

I remember, way back when, when I was in high school in the LA Unified School District...they started bussing from San Fernando, to my old Jr. High (caucasian mostly), in the west end of the Valley.

The kids from SF thought that when the football players wore their jerseys on Friday, it was some type of "gang."

So, the SF kids, all took their outer shirts off, and wore their white T-shirts to show "solidarity," and were prepared to fight.

No, America's biggest weakness is not listening carefully enough to foreign friends who may or may not be as smart as you are.

Re-read my posts carefully: I do not advocate illegal access to the United States. I do, however, object to the concept that "Immigration" is the USA's biggest problem.

Immigration requires a process. I went thru that process when I emigrated to NZ. It was fair, it was official, it took time, and I went thru it. Citizenship was the ultimate result.

I did not jump the queue. At no time was I an Illegal: trying to cheat the system.

"Immigration" is not America's biggest problem at all! "Home Invasion" is.

America is being Home Invaded. But not by Immigrants. It's by people operating outside the system.
