Re your post #77 and my post #71 -- Surprisingly, perhaps, Jim Brady of the Washington Post.com now seems to bolster the gist of my claim in my post #71, as he now admits they hired this young blogger because they wanted to create some "buzz." In other words, sell more ad space, make more money, etc.
Some of his comments to Salon appear below:
"...We wanted to create a little bit of buzz and controversy as well." And Domenech, Brady said, fit the bill. "He was provocative."

Thanks, there are a few threads in which I do feel I have something unique to say (health insurance policies is one), but I enjoy reading everyone elses view. I have been thinking of starting a vanity thread about "in what area are you most liberal". I think it would fascinating to read, but I usually don't have the time, I am in and out of FR but not usually for long periods of time.
Back to Ben (I went way off tangent), I also agree that I hope he keeps writing, and make use of this experience to enrich his own lifes work. After all if we don't learn from our mistakes what good is it.

Thanks for the link. We discussed it here, in posts #91 and #92. His 2nd apology is linked in post #91, wherein he admits to plagiarism.
I was planning to post a link of this thread to other threads, but now, there is no need to do so. I was also planning to post a link to his latest apology, but then I decided, this was enough, just including it on this thread.
I see he has now lost two jobs, his blogger gig and editing job. And has taken a leave of absence from redstate. While what he did was wrong, I still hope this kid does not go off the deep end.

Yes.
As inexcusable as his actions were, I don't think his career should be destroyed.
I'm surprised, because this is the first time-that I'm aware of-where I've agreed with Right wing Professor.

I like not being a real writer as its a whole lot easier ...I have recently been told that some of my stuff is pretty good though...here is an example:
