"Palestinian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Al-Zahar Defends "Martyrdom-Seeking Operations"
Following are excerpts from an interview with Palestinian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Al-Zahar, which aired on Al-Arabiya TV on April 6, 2006."
TRANSCRIPT SNIPPET: "Interviewer: How will you deal with the issue of suicide operations against Israeli civilians? Abu Mazen condemns these operations. What will be your position?
Mahmoud Al-Zahar: These are not suicide operations. This is a despicable term used by the Israelis in order to say that these are suicide operations, knowing that suicide is forbidden in Islam. This is just for the sake of clarification. These are martyrdom-seeking operations, approved by all the authorities of the Islamic nation, who consider them to be the highest level of martyrdom."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "SRINAGAR, India — A series of grenade attacks by suspected separatist rebels shook Kashmir's capital on Friday, killing five people and wounding at least 18, police said.
All those killed were civilians — three women and two men who died of their injuries at the main hospital in Srinagar, said Mushtaq Ahmad, a police officer at the hospital."
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The attacks happened over about one hour and within two miles of the city center.
A local news agency, Current News Service, reported that four Islamic rebel groups separately claimed responsibility for the attacks. The groups include Jamiat-ul-Mujahedeen, Al-Mansurain, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Islamic Front."

"Intelligence War Breaks out on the Jihadi Forums"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "In mid-March, a further impetus to suspect al-Hesbah was voiced by members of the Tajdeed jihadi forum (http://www.tajdeed.org.uk ), who blamed the site for the arrest of the infamous cyber-mujahid Irhabi007, also known as Younis Tsouli, by British intelligence last October. Irhabi007 had been hunted for two years as an al-Qaeda webmaster and the suspected source of many of the al-Qaeda declarations posted on the net. With his close links to al-Qaeda, his arrest is considered an important event in the struggle against jihadi sites. Members also wondered aloud how the report by the Society for Internet Research (SOFIR), analyzing the readership of the al-Hesbah site, could have been compiled without inside collaboration. Some of these suspicions focused around the fact that al-Hesbah's administrators requested that applicants for registration provide their country of origin, and rejected the applicants' use of proxies to disguise their personal details; these requests are unusual for a jihadi forum. There were also concerns that there was an unusual concentration of a single nationality—Jordanians—on the administration staff and that this surely opened up the possibility of security penetration."
