And our intrepid cable channel news agencies never bothered to mention that such folks existed.

I'm trying to figure out an anchor for a weekly post about the items the "traditional" news sources covered and about the items they refused to cover.

So far I haven't found a "hook," like a "week in review" from one of the MSM sites.  I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to create such a list myself, but I'm not sure I'm up to keeping track of every show every night for even one week.

Can you think of any community I might be able to look to for help? (cynical mode on)

Seriously, how well do you think a "daily news" or "weekly news" thread would go over as a way to enlist the troops in catching all of this stuff so that we can do up relevant summaries?

Oh there's no question about the importance of WFB to modern conservatism, and it's no small point that he would concede that Reagan could beat him on occasion. But he was focused on the fight against communism.

But after communism fell in Europe and Russia, he went wobbly.

Ditto your comments, Peach.
An overload on 'opinion' news always requires a break.

I was angry through that WHOLE show...

First, I was mad at Chris with Peter Pace...he was interrogating him, not interviewing him...

BUT, I don't think I remember such a NEGATIVE show from start to finish..as this one.

I don't think I heard one positive word said about the Bush Administration...unless you count when Juan (?) said he is tired of all of the Bush bashing...LOL

eeevil, after listening to Bill Kristol...who I don't trust, I STILL started wondering if we freepers who aren't of the bash Bush crowd, aren't totally out of the loop with the rest of the country...

Do you think it is POSSIBLE that there are a HUGH percentage of Republicans, who voted for Bush in 2004, that are as angry with him..and disillusioned to the point of voting DEMOCRATIC, or even staying home in November, which would in essence be a vote for the dems????

Bush's stack of stuff

No, most likely I'm just ignorant of something that is already out there.

I'm looking for a weekly (or daily) summary of what is and is not covered by the MSM.  The idea would be to produce a weekly review of what THEY talk about and what THEY refuse to talk about.

Is there such a source that I'm not aware of? (highly likely)

Even if it's only close, it's a starting point.

I have NEVER claimed to be the ultimate source of anything (except trivia - I'm the end all an be all of useless trivia).

Just double checked on it. It wasn't a video, it was part of a video... here are the details on it for now...it was east of NO, near Chalmette, under a bridge at a substation, on the Mississippi Gulf Outlet which is a man-made canal. No FR thread or other documentation. Didn't think to check the time. I was talking to my source before I saw your post. I may be able to get my hands on the pic, but it might take a while.

That's the idea.  Care to volunteer?  I'm thinking we recruit people to do one day a week or one show per day or something like that.

You wanna sign up?  I volunteer to keep the list up to date (I'm doomed now!)

http://www.mrc.org/archive/newscol/welcome.asp

But Brent Bozell's Media Research Center appears to be organized more on an "issues covered" basis. http://www.mrc.org/archive/nq/welcome.asp probably gives a handle on the "what's covered" aspect. Getting to "what's not covered" is inherently more difficult - it amounts to reading the inside pages and choosing what should have been covered more prominently.

There are a good number of sources to check -- WH news releases are updated multiple times daily; read the Congressional Digest each day; Check the Congressional Committee meeting schedules.

Some things just don't surface, e.g., Able Danger hearings of recent.

I'll root around and see if I can find a "News that never made the news" sort of summary. "News that isn't newsworthy" is easy (Cheney shooting; DPW deal; Katrina/NOLA revisited on the occasion of Mardi Gras).

Having worked in exports for over 25 years I am impressed that 5% are inspected in my 25 years I think only 3 of my shipments and it may only be 2 have ever been physically inspected.

A caller to a local radio show here in Baltimore tried to educate the host and the audience a bit about the physical inspections on the receiving end. These inspections are flagged for inspection by govt agents, but the cost of the extra scanning and/or total inspection is paid for by the receiver of the goods, $150 for the diversion to the scanning machine; $600 for the hands on inspection; another $150 for something else. This guy said he had 5 out of 8 containers flagged and phoned an influential local ex-congresswoman to find out why.

I am watching the replay of Timmy with Edwards. I wish that people who know nothing would not open their mouths. Edwards is too stupid to be on a Sunday show. At least Kemp is supporting reality.

I've hit media bistro before, and linked to them, but the link doesn't seem to cover what I'm after

To be very specific I want to generate a thread built round what was covered each day by the MSM and what they left out. Not just the TV shows. Not just big events. What were the topics? What were the headlines (TV and MSM papers)? And, most importantly, what did they choose to ignore?
