(2006-02-03) The Democrat National Committee (DNC) responded to todays news of another drop in joblessness by warning that overworked Americans might be too tired to shop, thus sending the economy into a tailspin. Dropped before they shopped.

Rush is right. Humor has to have a ring of truth to be truly funny. I admit that without the Scrappleface warning, I was ready to post an entirely different reply.

Dang it, they get me every time. I think the outrageous statements in the teaser paragraph are true because the Dems are so prone to saying this kind of tripe.

There are certain jobs where this is true. Surgeons, for example... they buy big houses but don't have the time to landscape and furnish them.
I wouldn't call it a "problem" though, more of an irony.

Yes, you are right. Sounds like something the Dims would be saying.

Scrappleface has me jumping the other way now. I used to get outraged at a Scrappleface story before I saw the source, but now I see an article like "[UK] School deems hot cross buns 'offensive'" and immediately think it is Scrappleface. It takes me a little while to see that it isn't satire.

If we're too tired to shop then we're too tired to spend, which means our debts will go down, our savings will go up, more money will be available and cheaper rates to start businessess, buy houses, etc.
And that is bad because.....
To: Tarkin
Darn it! I was hoping this was true. I would've been using this ten years from now on people I know.
