FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before. ******** That's right - the Canteen mission Support the troops and all they do They've given up so much All for me and you There are so many here Who keep the aim sure and true They support the troops And have lots of fun too
We dance and play And spin on our toes A turn of phrase A joke or some prose All for the troops Who visit and bask Looking for a friend A break from their task So thanks to my friends You know who you are This army sister's brother Is home from the war You made my life easy You taught me some things You brought me such peace You gave me wings I'll always hold dear The ones who have cared Who gave me their true friendship Thank you FReeper Canteen. Today's Field Trip: NAS Souda Bay
If you have a suggestion for a Field Trip - maybe a place where YOU have been stationed and would like to re-visit - PLEASE Freepmail it to starcmc!! Thanks!

a Please remember: the Canteen is a place to honor and entertain our troops. As such we attempt to keep it MOSTLY apolitical. Thanks for playing and have a nice day! LOL!!! |

Good for you!
Please pass along my thanks to your hubby. And, thank you for your sacrifices.
(p.s. I am glad you cleared that up for me (i.e., hubby). I thought I was having a brain cramp......I thought I remembered that shezza was a female personna.....but was struggling to remember if I had overlooked something.....you know....with my age and all.....(wink))

Good morning, Jinxie. Hi Nana
Thanks for the Woo Hoo.
It's been a while since I managed to be here long enough to snag one. I'll have to give everyone some competition this week.

THE CROSSES GROW ON ANZIO Oh, gather 'round me, comrades; and listen while I speak Of a war, a war, a war where hell is six feet deep. Along the shore, the cannons roar. Oh how can a soldier sleep? The going's slow on Anzio. And hell is six feet deep. Praise be to God for this captured sod that rich with blood does seep. With yours and mine, like butchered swine's; and hell is six feet deep. That death awaits there's no debate; no triumph will we reap. The crosses grow on Anzio, where hell is six feet deep. . . . Audie Murphy, 1948 |

Good to see your smiling good morning again!
Looks like it's time to get breakfast ready for Nana...she's just lovin' this, being waited on hand and foot...!!
Well, not really, since it means she can't do things for herself, but...we're getting there!
