I'm trying to make sense of your post.
This seems to be a contradiction:
Cindy and her current husband, Patrick are the parents of Casey and the other kids. Her current husband has filed for divorce but I don't believe custody is an issue since all of the kids are now of age.
What am I missing? Patrick is Casey's father and "her current husband?"

What am I missing? Patrick is Casey's father and "her current husband?" They are one and the same person. I used the terminology current husband as I'm not aware whether their divorce is final or not.
Maybe it would have made more sense to you if I had said "Cindy and her estranged husband, Patrick are the parents of Casey and the other kids. Her estranged husband has filed for divorce but I don't believe custody is an issue since all of the kids are now of age."
