Hmmm... I'm not buying this one.

I can see exactly how it would happen, just as described.

Yep. Hindsight is 20/20. Armchair QB's are a dime a dozen.

I, for one, would hate to be the parents. All of the criticism from posters here on FR, and the general public, will never even approach what they will carry around with them the rest of their lives.

I remember reading about a local woman who got in her car to back out of the driveway and ran over her granddaughter.

Hell hath no punishment like that which we can foster upon ourselves from the inside.

I pray they all somehow can find peace after this. And for those who jump to conclusions, I pray it never happens to you.

Good to see your posts, Dear Lady. Keep up the good fight.

"What exactly are you credentials"

My credentials are that I follow all kinds of news stories, and see hysterical outpourings of sympathy, only to see it all turn around when the real story comes out a few weeks later. I am often able to smell a rat.

I remember discussion threads where some kid goes "missing", and the parents are crying hysterically on TV. 90% of the posters believe it, and the 10% who don't are viciously attacked. Then 2 or 3 weeks later, the parents are charged with murdering the kid.

Not long ago, one of my grandsons -- who I watch CLOSER than I watched my own son -- started complaining about his throat hurting; he was really crying; I went downdstairs to get some ice for his throat because I couldn't see anything wrong with his mouth or throat.

Barely gone sixty seconds, the older two started screaming Come quick........I came back upstairs and there stood the four of them (all under five) AND MY HUSBAND, staring a shinny new penny this kid has thrown up.

Stuff happens.

how about this for a scenario - girl goes into backyard wearing scarf, dog grabs the scarf inadvertently killing her.

the worst thing about reading these forums are the conspiracy minded nature of so many posts. Sometimes a banana is simply a banana.

and see hysterical outpourings of sympathy

So you seek to balance that off by going off halfcocked and making accusations about people you don't even know witout ANY facts?

I feel REALLY sorry for the people around you in your real life, if there are any.

W-T-F do you let your 6 year old by herself with a large animal for. THAT is abundantly STUPID.

Baloney. We had German Shepards all of my life. Our children, even as toddlers, were always playing with Sarah, our 105 pound Shepard, and none were ever hurt. My kids rode horses when they were just out of diapers!

Nervous nellies should just put their kids in a stainless steel sphere and feed them by a spoon until they're old enough to... what.

(rolling eyes)

Quote: "The parents are devastated with grief.

And you want the cops to come in and do the whole bad cop/good cop routine, accuse them of wrongdoing, shake the tree and see what falls out?

You are one absolutely heartless, sick person."

Not at all, I just recognize the reality that there are sick people in this world who will do anything to cover up what they have done.

Is it not possible that someone in the family strangled the girl and made this whole dog story up?

If you say no, you are very naive....

Looking for truth has nothing to do with being heartless.

This could very well be a tragic event, and yes, the parents could be devastated, and rightly so.

But there is a dead child here, and the reason for her death must be verified. You verify the reason for this death by investigating and ruling out possibilities. The dog causing this event may be the case, but then again it may not. You have to verify it though.

This investigation absolutely must be done.

And don`t call me a heartless person for stating such a thing. You don`t have any idea of who I am, my history, or what I even do or have done for a living. Your remark was simply uncalled for.

Precisely. But as a person who lost a child to an accident, it pi**e* me off, you know?

What kind of knot was tied in the scarf??

Maybe the kind many little girls learn to tie their shoes with?

BTW, taglines can be fun, but not every tagline is appropriate on every thread...just a hint. JJR RNCH (Its only funny until someone gets hurt, then its hilarious.)

If you say no, you are very naive....

Exactly what makes YOU more qualified than the police?

Do you know these people? Have you seen the house, the dog, the neighborhood?

Have the police consulted with you yet so you can tell them the errors of their ways?

I'm sure there is some trial lawyer out there who is thinking about the odds of winning a suit against the maker of the scarf

Did it have an adequate warning label about how to wear it to avoid the foreseeable risk?

I've got 3 kids. My 2 year old last week swallowed a peppermint, which I must add wasn't given to him, and came to me crying and holding his throat. At first I thought he was choking but then I heard him take a deep breath. He grabbed his throat again, so I bent him over and whacked him one between the shoulder blades. Out pops the candy!

Stuff certainly does happen.
