My best guess is that he's actually physically in the Maritimes.
I submit that the Maritimes are a region the Liberals MUST carry if they are to have any hope of retaining power, but the region is not necessarily vital to the Conservatives, who show every sign of winning big in traditional Liberal strongholds like Quebec and Ontario. Don't read too much into early returns showing the Liberals winning some seats, that's what they're going to do, win *some* seats. But although it is probably an unlikely event, it would not surprise me too much if the NDP ended up being the official opposition instead of the Liberals. Say what you will about Jack Layton and the NDP, and Stephen Harper and the Conservatives, but the one thing they have in common is that they want to restore honest government in Ottawa and that is why you will not see the NDP (imho) cutting any deals with the head Liberalano, Paul Martin.
