Didn't Arlen agree that Harriet's written response to the Committee's questionaire was inadequate?

Teddy's shame of thought passed out and over the bridge like a drunk in the fog.

That's what it was before; he didn't change HIS dates.

I just add, "yet," to that. I took his recent comment to mean that a delay was possible - and if a delay is demanded, the Committee will work through it.

We'll see. It's a bigger political football than just the players in the Judiciary Committee. DEMs seem determined to be a$$'s on this, not conceding any form of loss whatsoever. No surprise, politics isn't bean bag.

There's a courtesy week. But Specter is not obligated to give these brain dead slugs anything else.

Spec's on a roll. For once.

Arlen also saved the day when he went after Anita Hill and save Clarence Thomas. I don't particularly like the guy and I don't trust him, but I'm glad he's been supporting the President's nominees this year and last. He's been a good Chairman -- even if we don't count his smackdown of Chap Q Fats.

Yes, both he and Leaky demanded a do over.

Specter saying that having the panel of judges was a good idea.

Summarizing some of what those judges said.

What is Specter doing? Shouldn't this speech be saved for when the committee votes?

Correct me if I am wrong...but, I thought I heard Specter say...at the beginning of his scheduling explanation that the "one week" was the first week in Jan...since he wanted to start on Jan. 3...and then gave the dems their "one week" until this week...

Any Dem can ask for a one week delay..Spector's point, which was outlined in the text he read,w as that he and Leahy had an understanding that the week's delay had occured previously..and that they had an understanding on the schedule..If the ranking member has lost the respect of his members..well....and BTW..I wrote here earlier that I expect that Leahy will be eased out of the ranking member's slot and replaced with Schumer..

Only if Specter lets them. Here's the deal -- the sooner we vote the more filibuster proof it will be.
