"He couldn't be more correct. Murtha is at best, irresponsible, at worst, treasonous."

Not intentionally treasonous, more of a useful idiot.

I don't understand what these anti-war folks, especially those who have served, are thinking. Have they lost all reason and rationality?

It's simply politics uber alles, m'dear.

"Hmm, active duty flag rank military officer takes on Congressman, publicly.

It really is extraordinary seeing as the General is speaking about one of his bosses.

"When did a Democrat ever care about the military since Vietnam?"

As a Vietnam era vet, I can categorically attest to the fact that the members of the RAT party didn't give a hoot in Hades for the military at that time. Nor did their willing comrades in the msm, for that matter.

The only time that a member of the military is shown an iota of respect by these maggots, is when that member parrots their party line.

30 plus years later, not a damn thing has changed.

Whats really incredible is that Vietnam was a Democratic War run by JFK and LBJ and a Democratic Senate and House!!
Nixon ran on a platorm of the secret plan to get out, he won and succeeded in his Plan while the Democrats vilified him and then caused the Vietnam slaughter by cutting the funds and aid to the South Vietnamese Government and they get away with this horrible lie.

In part -- I really do think there's a psyciatric explanation for much of what passes for modern liberalism.

More than that, though, I think they've allowed their personal desires and biases to overrule facts that are detrimental to their desires and biases. (This is one way to identify an ideological stance.)

Couple with this a tendency to hang around people who share their ideological views, which isolates them further from inconvenient facts.

This leads to a loss of perspective, followed by the same sort of snow-blindess that causes people who are very nice in person, to behave horribly in e-mail or places like FR.

Conservatives are often guilty of the same sin; however, our biases tend to manifest themselves in different subjects -- hence we avoid the sort of poisonous, treasonous stuff that seems to plague the Democrats.

In my experience I have found first hand that liberals are generally pessimists.

They keep the shrinks busy and the big pharmaceutical companies in the black.

The military is and has always been subordinate to the civilian sector. Their Commander in Chief and the ultimate authority as far as the military is concerned, is after all a civilian.

I believe Colonel, but I've seen comments that most of his years were in the reserves as a politician.
