I just saw this interview on Letterman a few minutes ago. It is SURE to be the BIG topic of conversation later today. Letterman was absolutely snarlish. When he couldn't argue with O'Reilly, he just said that he thought about 60% of what he says is just crap.

Letterman was right about one thing--he isn't smart enough.

What I want to know is why the heck does every one who is associated with conservatism has to defend this junk over and over again. Is O'Reily a WH spokescritter? No? Associated with the government at all? No? Then what the heck is this topic doing there in the first place?

Must have missed where the RATs had to answer questions about Whitewater, Travelgate, Kosovo, Somalia, lying to grand juries and sexual liaisons in the oval office. Gee, come to think about it, this didn't happen, but all conservatives get to do in an interview is defend Bush.

Would have been better if O'Reily had simply said: Why don't you pick up the phone and ask him yourself. So, about my book... (or whatever he's peddling this week.)

Letterman: “I’m not smart enough to debate you point to point on this, but I have the feeling, I have the feeling....."

Well at least Letterman's smart enough to admit he can't win a debate on the facts and that his feelings are his only ammo. To leftists, feelings are all-important.

Letterman often talkes about his 2 yr old kid and the
unmarried mother of it.
When you watch his body language he looks like someone
who is not sure of himself.

“I’m not smart enough to debate you point to point on this, but I have the feeling, I have the feeling about 60 percent of what you say is crap. [audience laughter] But I don’t know that for a fact. [more audience applause]"

You said it, David - you are not smart enough. And you are a typical liberal: "I have the feeling." Feelings, not facts, is what you folks live by.

I have never heard this guy say anything I thought was funny. Cannot understand why his show is still on. ???

We are being lectured by a guy who's first child was born out of wedlock.

The Resume

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana
Late night talk show host on NBC and then CBS
Weatherman

Why he might be annoying
He told an embarrassing UMA-OPRAH. joke when he hosted the Academy Awards.
He smokes cigars.
He is a vegetarian.
He earned a multitude of speeding violations.
He has problems getting close to anyone.
He is germ phobic.
He hates to be touched especially near his neck.
He had his first child, a son, while in his fifties, and out of wedlock

Letterman is an idiot, he just turned off 50% of his audience. Facts don't matter when we run into PC.

We can't run this country based on hindsight, because then it would be too late. People like Letterman and Sheehan are going to get us all killed.

And wasn't a lot of that intelligence gathered under the Clinton adminnistration?

Poor Letterman. I used to actually like the guy. But now, his brain has been brainwashed by the rats & Old Media.
I was truly saddened watching the show.

Too bad that bore Letterman was upstaged tonight by the WV coalminer rescue and the Orange Bowl game.

I'm sure his ratings were very low tonight.

Blather on, Dave. No one is listening.

O'Reilly should have just walked off the stage.

No you aren't.

What number of deferment was this taken during, Dave?

Fellow Freepers, I agree with other posters here that we need to voice our discontent with jerks like Letterman, so here is what I sent to CBS after finding out about tonight's broadcast:

David Letterman has finally crossed the line with this evening's broadcast. His political bias and outright mean-spirited attacks on our President have forced me to not watch your channel again. I will ask my colleagues to do the same- I have about 2,000 fellow soldiers in my command. Regardless of Mr. Letterman's personal views, the fact is we are at war and my soldiers are in harms way while he provides our enemies propoganda with his attacks on President Bush. Shameful.

I'm on the west coast, haven't seen it yet, doubt I will watch.
Letterman is a third rate hack, a complete moron, what a punk.

Letterman soon lectures: “I'm very concerned about people like yourself who don't have nothing but endless sympathy for a woman like Cindy Sheehan. Honest to Christ. Honest to Christ."

Yea, right...endless sympathy for a woman that has used her own sons death in battle for his country to defame the very country he sacrificed all for. Endless sympathy of a nit-wit
mouthpiece for the virulent Left that would have America lose this War on Terror ,
and face shame and dishonor and leave the world at the mercy of the bloodthirsty radical islamists. Endless sympathy for this woman that travels the country and the world spouting sedition and trying to inspire hatred and lack of respect for both our Leadership and the Armed Forces. Endless sympathy for this woman that put together a fake Mothers of Vets organization and then uses the names of the deceased soldiers , without permission of the rightful relatives and even expressly against their wishes.
If Letterman can have sympathy for Sheehan after what she has done he needs to seriously reevaluate what should inspire sympathy and what kills it....

"Letterman Denounces Iraq War & Hails Sheehan"

He can't get anyone to laugh so he may as well be controversial and keep his name in the marquis.
