I'm from Texas and have sort of followed his career. He isn't a preacher. His father left the family business to him. When dad died, there was no search committee and no chance to hear other preachers. He was groomed for the position. He took over from dad and the congregation let him. He doesn't have a clue. Calling him a motivational speaker is probably the closest name, but he's not even that good. It's more important to be a member of Lakewood Church than it is to hear the Word now. He came right out and said he doesn't want to be confrontational from the pulpit. So now all the Dems, libs, queers, abortionists, "look at me I'm in church" types go there because they will never be condemned or convicted.

I find it funny, however for people to condemn him for flying 1st class when I'm surprised he doesn't have his own Gulfstream. Maybe that's what all this is building up to. Next Sunday he may take a love offering for his own plane.

After listening to him a couple of times, you confirm my feeling about him.
Still, what about the older members of the church that followed his dad?

I saw part of Osteen's recent interview with Larry King Live and shut off the set when Osteen made it clear that he did not "condemn" people and was not into "social issues."
