If you could somehow force or "get" all or most all Americans to believe in Darwinism, it wouldn't have nearly the wonderful effect many people claim. It wouldn't speed up medical research, wouldn't get a man on Mars any sooner, and wouldn't make the world more happy or peaceful.
The evolutionists are guilty of overplaying their hand. Others are right to be wary.
Actually a lot of medical research and astrophysics does depend on understanding that life and the Universe have evolved over a very long period of time.
Given the fine example just on this site alone, I'm not surprised.
After the Discovery Institute backed out of the Dover case, and tells its supporters that ID is not to be taught in public schools. And after the Dover school board is publicly seeking to back out of the case before the judgement, I think it's your side that's overplayed it's hand.
Creationism has lost again, and always will, because it's fantasy science.
