The code of ethics for federal prosecutors, which addresses press conferences, limits them to reviewing the charges in the indictment-period.
They are not allowed to discuss the specific evidence so that the potential jury pool is not tainted.

I don't think HE thinks there will be a trial. He does not even seem confident that the charges are solid. He kept saying IF and presumed innocent, but he's the prosecutor.

I agree. While the action for a new Grand Jury has been called to continue this, I'm not sure it is official. If this WAS ALL secret, then it should have remained secret throughout the continuance.

I still say that he has no intention of taking this to trial. The worst possible scenario from his point of view is that Libby doesn't take the plea bargain. Discovery, etc. will be a mess.

I think that's why Fitz is holding Rove at arm's length and I think the offer will be a real slap on the wrist. Something Bergerian.
