That's actually a good thing because blind partisanship is bad news. These folks who attack anyone who doesn't toe the republican party line are putting party above nation and in my opinion are no longer behaving as Americans.
You still miss the point. I was also disappointed in the Miers pick, HOWEVER she deserved her chance to be heard. And I wanted to hear it. The proccess may well have worked and she would not have been confirmed if she is such an imbecile, as you seem to think.
The fact that she was absolutely and brutally denied the opportunity--BY FELLOW CONSERVATIVES is what I am so anry about.

Not to be disrespectful Rast, but after hearing Tony read her speech, I think that Meirs could also have headed in that direction......but now we'll never know, which is fine with me.
What we want and what strategy will allow may not be compatible.
I am glad in a way that she withdrew...because I wasn't happy with her nomination...
However...just as I was furious with the GANG of 14, taking the power from Frist and the rest of the Senate...
I don't like the precedent of having a minority of mostly PUNDITS forcing this to happen before she even had a hearing.
So, do we now know who has the REAL power in the USA...certainly not the POTUS....it is the media, because these pundits had all of the opportunity to smear her from the very second she was nominated...

Now it's time for fight that needs to be fought. Bring on the true originalist, bring on the Constitutional option in the Senate...51 votes to approve judges.
I thought she should have her day as well, but with the stuff that has come out over the past week, I don't think she would have made it anyway. And if she was not up to the brutal interrogation awaiting her, this was a more humane way to go!
But, yes, I do feel very sorry for her.
