Wilson shouldn't be too upset over this since the 'campaign of character assassination' never happened and, chances are, the 'indictments against top White House advisers' probably won't either.
This is the speech of someone planning a run for office OR a "big job" in a Dem Administration. "Consultant, my a**. Joe's a prostitute". He and the Dems just haven't settled on the price.
Problem with this section of the first sentence? No proven leak; she wasn't undercover. But what are a few factual misrepresentations in a news story?

Consider that he got Valerie to out herself on their thrid date. Does he carry an engagement ring with him at all times? Who did Valerie call at the CIA to ask if she could tell Joe about her status? HE was married to someone else at the time. No covert agent would reveal themselves without permission.
I bet he does, just wait for a trial and their little scheme comes out. Let's see who really is quilty of a crime here.

I knew Mr. Wilson was a liar pretty much from the beginning, because that statement was in one of the first articles I read about him.
Don't blame Wilson, there will and always have been creeps like this.
But imagine if this were the Clinton Admin, Wilson would get NO coverage, except a little as a member of the VRWC/loon.

If there ever was a "campaign of character assassination", it was the most low-key campaign in history. I sure never heard tell of it.
But Libby testified to the grand jury, according to lawyers close to the case, that he first heard the name of Wilson's wife from journalists.
Assuming the above is true, there is no logical contradiction in these sentences, but far be it for the reporter to be able to figure that out. If he has figured it out, his agenda has him twisting it into the worst light possible.
Even if Cheney first disclosed Valerie's name to Libby in 6/2003, it doesn't mean Libby could not first have heard Valerie's name from journalists. Are the lawyers that dumb, too, or is it just the "journalists?"
