One reason I would never cheer for the Orioles is their owner, Multi-billionaire Peter Angelos, has sworn never to sign a Cuban player without El Commandantes' permission. Amazing how liberals stills believe in involuntary servitude, if the "massa" is a communist dictator.

When I was growing up in the 1960s, I was an Astro fan big time. I lived in Alabama. I could only get the Cardinals on KMOX out of St. Louis, sometimes the Reds out of a station in Cincy. Then the Braves after they moved to Atlanta. But, I was a huge Colt 45s then Astros fan. Rusty Staub, Bob Aspromonte, Sonny Jackson, Joe Morgan, John Bateman, Jimmy "the toy cannon" Wynn, Larry Dierker, Mike Cuellar, Don Wilson, Barry Latman, Bob Lillis. I loved the Astros. Then they traded Rusty to Montreal, Joe to the Reds, Wynn to the Dodgers. I kind of moved over to the Braves and Hank Aaron. But, I still have a real soft spot for the Astros. It really is fantastic to see them get in. I will be rooting for them all the way!!!

Although I'm conflicted in who to root for, yours is the most compelling reason to cheer on the White Sox. ;-) Sorry. :-)

Id like to think that someday after Fidal is worm meat and Cuba and US relations are normalized that there will be a Cuba will have a team in the Major League. Those boys down there do play some pretty good baseball.

I say it'll be less than 10 years post Fidel for there to be a Major League team in Havana, and I hope they make it to the world series in my lifetime.

American baseball fans attending games in Cuba will love the resorts, hotels, casinos, nightclubs, and beaches they visit. Once Fidel is gone the Cuban economy will soar and tourism will lead the way. Libertad por siempre!

Since Hugo Chavez sucks up to Ozzie Guillen, and Fidel Castro rails against Guillen's whole team, it would be nice to see Chavez and Castro get into a fight over this baseball team. I'd like to see Castro have a cow. Let's hope they come to blows.

Not only is Castro not able to credibly play baseball, he can't even dance! For a Cuban, this is a real sign of damaged merchandise. I have a film of Castro and Chavez playing baseball and Chavez is enjoying himself grandly and playing pretty well. Castro, on the other hand, plays like he's wearing a mummy suit. He's such a loser.
