It isn't hard to understand. As saveliberty posted, the glass ceiling defense of Miers is getting old.
I am not a one issue Conservative, so how she stands on Roe v Wade or some of the other things you mention will not sway me.
Is she an originalist? We don't know.
Does she legislate from the bench? We don't know.
Does she belive that the Constitution is a living breathing document? We don't know.
The GOP walked away from a fight. Rather then nominate Janice Rodgers Brown, Owens, Edith Jones, or any of a number of people who belive in the original intent of the Founders, they get wishy washy and cower from a fight.
We have already argued this issue ad nauseum! Enough already. Bush thinks she is the right person for the job, he has the answers to your questions. Beating a dead horse on this thread is not going to change his mind.
