Channel 5 just reported the part about trying to buy ammonium nitrate--interviewed the clerk. So some stuff is starting to come out! This guy said he did NOT believe the father's claim that it must have been an accident!
Apparently, the FBI hasn't talked to this clerk yet, or he wouldn't have told the media anything, either. I'm sure they will be.
