My understanding is that Lyme's can incubate without symptomology a lot longer than is commonly believed and that the rash that we're all supposed to look for is atypical rather than typical. I also understand, from a fellow parrishioner who contracted Lyme's last year, that anti-biotic treatment could last for a while.

NnB, do you have better, more reliable info?

From a Canadian site... http://www.canlyme.com/lime.html

Lyme Disease is determined by clinicians, not labs
...no lab has a gold standard test to date, some labs are just better than others.

The only treatment available to date is antibiotic. If caught early and treatment given in sufficient dosage over sufficient time all is well in most cases. There remains a significant number of treatment failures usually as a result of insufficient dose/time of treatment and/or late diagnoses.

These treatment failures have proven to benefit significantly from longer term antibiotic treatment and patients sometimes have to be very demanding to receive such treatment.

Lymes can do some odd stuff.
It is a possibility to get it without symptoms for awhile.
Or, you can have symptoms almost immediately.
Guy I know who is an EMT got Lymes.
He pretty much had no symptoms for roughly 7 months or so.
He had to transport a guy who everyone thought had a stroke.
Nope, Lymes.
Guy got Lymes due ot tick bite in his own yard.
He could whistle and was known for whistling tunes, when John transported him, the guy couldn't move half his face.

I'm hoping the Lymes test comes back negative.
