lol - I spend a good part of each making sure I don't lose my newly planted pomegranate tree - I have heavy shade, lots of large trees and it is one of my few plants that is in the sun - it dries out so fast and I'd just like to get it through this season so it can establish.

"one of my few plants that is in the sun"Yeah, I hear you - some of my flowers get full sun; every morning I go to work and they're happy, every evening I come home and they're wilting.
Might not be a problem this weekend, however...

Do you not get rain all summer? Here in So Oregon it rarely rains after April (this year was a rare exception) and not until November--except for a few showers.
Every year it's a struggle to keep my plants alive--specially the Rhodies--but with careful watering (deep and not frequent) they manage to survive. In the Spring the yard is very pretty--but this time of year things look a little tired--just like me!
