I initially poo-poo'd thoughts that this was another Galveston....however, I am starting to rethink this.

From another board:

Per Fox...the lower half of Plaquemines Parish has been reclaimed by the Mississippi River...

Nobody can get in touch with anyone in that area.

I heard an interview with the Parish President on Saturday night and he said there was an estimated 20% who did not evacuate...and that means about 5000-6000 people stayed in Buras, Venice, Port Sulphur, et al...

--------------

If this is remotely accurate, then this may approach Galveston.

Just a minor quibble here: the land was formed in the gulf by the mississippi. The land was reclaimed (to the gulf) by the storm surge from the gulf.

About the only glint of silver in that dark cloud is it would stop Hillary from shilling more pork for NYC. Pork will instead be going to red states, especially to Newer Orleans.
