This time yesterday the general concensus was New Orleans dodged a bullet.

The only one who spouted this crap were Shep Smith and Phil Keating on Fox News.

Those two morons should never be allowed to cover another hurricane.

The lady anchor on Channel 6 out of NO went after the MSM and people like Shep that didn't know the city and reported they dodged a bullet when damage is worse then they expected.

Time for Shep to go IMHO for his coverage.

NOW IF THE HURRICANE WAS OVER ARUBA WE WOULD OF HAD INDEPT COVERAGE. WE WOULD KNOW HOW THE HOLLAWAY FAMILY CAME THROUGH IT.

actually the general concensus on the cable news was "the worst is over", except for a few loons on fox who were still predicting disaster. CNN was leading off with "the worst is over", of course the French Quarter contingent was sure all was fine...

Perhaps Shep Smith and Phil Keating on Fox News yesterday said that "New Orleans dodged a bullet" because they did. I'm pretty sure they were referring to hurricane Katrina herself, and where her "eye" went through the area. Instead of hitting them directly, she veered off to the east a bit. That would be dodging a bullet, IMO.

None of us could have known for sure what the aftermath would be like, as we witnessed last night and this morning. Prayers for all. chena

Shep's had a bad year; he blew it on the pope's death, and now this. Someone in management must like him.
