Personal hygiene is most important to maintain morale. I keep extra cloths (including socks), soap, wash cloths, toothbrush and toothpaste in the car.

Feeling clean is feeling good and if you feel good you can deal much better with adverse conditions.

MD, I applaud your preparations. We can all take a lesson from you.

Probably not terrorist related but wierd anyway.

Just took Clyde out for an attempted walk. Got about 200 yards from the house and heard a gunshot. It was not a firecracker, I've been around both and know the difference. About 30 seconds later there was another one. Then Clyde got hinky. Spooked is the best way to put it. Very unusual, but he wanted to head back to the house - in a BIG hurry which is exactly what we've done. I trust my instincts and I trust Clyde's even more than mine.

Right now Clyde is sitting (not laying) right in front of the front door, ears standing which is also unusual. I have my .357 within reach and have reported the shots to the police. I've already seen several cruisers patrolling the area.

Strange for a small town.

By the way, another thing I've been keeping a good stock of is toilet paper. Customary household use supplies will not go far if you are enscounced in your house and do not want to leave for whatever reason. You can scrimp on food with negligible results, but TP scrimping could be unsanitary and breed disease. Sorry, it had to be TP'd ("covered.")
