The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

It's hardly a unique fashion statement for a mass transit rider: a Yankees-style cap, and a "New York" sweat shirt.

But the New York Police Department is teaming with British authorities to determine whether those items were worn by suspects in the London terror cases to send a "purposeful message" to the city, according to an NYPD officials.

David Cohen, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence, raised the concern earlier this week at a security briefing for business leaders at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.

Good morning, Granny! I think it's so ignorant of people to immediately make fun of anyone who keeps an open mind about the possibility of terrorist acts. And then there was that Egyptian suicide plane.

Those people love death and destruction. And, oddly enough, so do the enemies within.

BTW, I got your freepmail about Calpernia's son - and I did pray for them. I just didn't get to replying to you - been overwhelmed lately with my two ping lists, health stuff (as usual) and DH working almost 7 days a week and he's on call for wildland firefighting as well. I'm never at my best when it's 100 every day.

But I can imagine in Kingman! I can't complain.

I heard a while ago that you were having some health problems, but I never did read what they were. I hope you are feeling better now. No one escapse the ravages of old age, I'm only in mid fifties but my wild mis-spent youth and other accidents (such as getting poisoned with pesticides 10 yrs ago) have taken their toll.

My solace is my conviction that our real self is the eternal soul, that the physical body is a vehicle (or like the Bible says, an earthly tent or home) which, if we place all our trust in God's protection, will soon be traded in for an eternal existence beyond our comprehension. So the old age part, although certainly unpleasant and painful, is, to me, like a temporary hurdle before the finish line.

With the new Emminent Domain nonsense that was passed by the Supreme Court...your thoughts are not too far fetched, unfortunately. After all they may need to take the property of tax paying Americans, so that the illegals "who do jobs that Americans won't", can have a place to call home.

Without all of the illegals we would probably pay less for more than a few things...car insurance (illegals have no license/no car insurance)...health insurance (illegals clogging up the emergency rooms)....housing...etc. The powers that be had better get a handle on this mess.

Except for a handful, Tancredo being one, I'm afraid no one will tackle this issue for their own selfish/political reasons.

Now, Richardson (NM) and Napolitan0 (Az) are trying to make the border areas a state of emergency situation. Well, if they had been doing their jobs all these years they wouldn't have a problem.

What is their real reason for doing this? Are either up for re-election or seek some other office? Or, are they getting a clue that more and more American citizens are fed up!! The winds of change are affecting the politicians, and that's what we need more of.

Arrest Made in Possible Terror Plot

FBI probe uncovers a list of potential Southland targets and suggests a connection between prison groups and Islamic extremists.

August 16, 2005

A Pakistani national has been arrested by authorities in connection with a far-reaching investigation of a possible terrorist plot targeting any of nearly two dozen locations in Southern California, including National Guard recruitment centers, law enforcement sources said Monday.

The suspect, identified as Hamad Riaz Samana, 21, of Los Angeles, was quietly taken into custody last week by counter-terrorism officials as part of a probe that began with the arrest of two men in Torrance suspected of robbing gas stations. The investigation, sources said, has involved more than 100 FBI agents and Los Angeles police detectives as well as counter-terrorism specialists with other federal and local agencies.

The case has opened a new and troubling front for counter-terrorism officials because of a possible connection to a radical form of Islam practiced by a group called Jamiyyat Ul Islam Is Saheeh, an official said. The group's name translates as The Assembly of Authentic Islam. (snip)

Glad to see that Italy is paying attention. I have friends who live in Italy, and some who visit their relatives often. I recall their stories from prior to 9/11 about "gypsies" who were trying to take over small towns and cities. Causing disruption in schools if they didn't get their way...problems with government, etc. It turns out that these "gypsies" are actually all muslims. Most of whom have illegally immigrated into Italy. And of course they have demands on the schools for prayer times etc.

It wasn't until after 9/11 that I realized that these disruptive illegals were muslims...and thereafter I really opened my eyes to the disruption and mayhem that they cause in every country where they have been allowed to take hold and try to take over. It is all incremental...it starts in the schools....gaining positions within local government...building mosques....and spreads from there. The British are learning this first hand.

Good description, the odd thing is the finish line gets closer every day.

Yes, I have to laugh, when the "it is not terrorism" crowd meets.

But I also have to watch it that I don't find a terrorist hiding around every incident.

When you have a good imigination, it is hard to not write the story as you imagine it.......LOL

My warped mind says a knock out drop in the co-pilot's drink and a good parachute for the pilot.

It will be interesting to find out if any of the people were really frozen and how many were alive at the time of the crash.

Has anyone heard the name of the pilot and co-pilot?

Granny, this is info. that I found yesterday, I am not sure if any additional detailed info./names has been released today.

The German pilot, identified as Martin Hans Gurgen, and a family of four Armenians were the only non-Greeks or non-Cypriots among the 121 killed. Twelve were Greek, while the remaining 104 were Cypriot, according to the passenger list released on Monday.

V...with all of the recent airplane mishaps...it makes me wonder about the massive Heathrow plane grounding/strike in the U.K. Could it be possible that there were forewarnings...or was it just a labor dispute...hmmmm.
