Hannity/Colmes Broadcast 7/27
Hannity & Colmes | 7/27 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 07/28/2005 6:05:26 AM PDT by 1alivenohio

From memory, no transcript, but I hope someone posts the transcript from last evening's show. I even stayed up till 2:00 am to watch it again to see if I really heard what I thought I heard.

Last evening's exchange between Hannity/Colmes & guests Michael Reagan and Ann Coulter grew a little tense when the discussion ranged around the topic of "good" vs. "bad" Catholics.

MReagan answered Colmes query as to who can judge this by saying that the Catholic Church has one Pope and one doctrine which if agreed to makes one a "good" Catholic and if opposed to this doctrine a "bad" Catholic.

Ann Coulter stated that a "good" Catholic like... (and she named several) could never be approved by the Senate; while a "bad" Catholic and here she mentioned "like a man who drowned a young woman at Chappaquidick" is rewarded with a Senate seat.

Michael Reagan visibly was amused at her boldness, while Colmes looked "sucker-punched."

Colmes said that was "beneath her." Ann, "What, Is wrong to tell the truth?" Did he commit murder in this drowning or not?"

They went to another topic and no more was heard of this incident.

Hasn't been mentioned on FOX today, nor anywhere in blogs.

Good question, and yes Ann America would like an answer. Why was Kennedy given a pass for a crime that would have had anyone else still enjoying the amenities of a home with stainless commodes and iron bar protection (for society) to keep him IN.

One thing is for sure. The mainstream media has given Ted Kennedy a pass during his adult life simply because his two brothers were killed. He's been able to be a drunk, an idiot and just plain nasty without any questions being asked.

As far as Mary Jo? He left her. He left her to die.

I'll give you the reasons why Teddy has not seen the inside of cell. In no particular order:

1. Daddy's Money - when you have enough cash to buy every politician, police chief, state trooper, etc. in Massachusettes, you'd be surprised what you can get away with. Notice Ethel's Cousin Mikey in Connecticut didn't get away with it because they're merely the "poor relations".

2. The Sainted Memory of JFK - having a brother who was a mediocre (at best) President hyped up into an Olympian god is quite an advantage: the press (and the legions of braindead who actually believe JFK "accomplished" something)will let anyone associated with the ghost of JFK skate on anything. Add a second liberal icon brother with a gaping head wound and you're golden.

And therein lies the secret of Teddy's success: Daddy's money and connections, JFK and RFK's murders. Then Teddy finally grew up and learned to manipulate the power invested in him on his own. He is unassailable, except by intelligent and moral people, the very types that are in such short supply in Washington and in much of the country, and especially, the press.

"Did he or did he not kill a woman at Chappaquiddic" Ann Coulter

A fun thread from last night about this topic. Admiral Ted actually had a defender.

The Sainted Memory of JFK

You're very right about this, but I think the era of sainted Kennedys is just about over.

The little old ladies who worshipped JFK and hung his portrait on their walls --and who continue to keep Chappaquiddick Ted in office-- are dying out.

Most people of my kids' generation (now young adults) have absolutely no stars in their eyes over the name "Kennedy."

Teddy may keep on being reelected by the Massidiots until he keels over on the Senate floor. But I predict he'll be the last to enjoy that golden status.

Wombat101 I mostly agree with you except for the Kenedy cousin part. The Skakels make the Kennedys look like paupers. The reason why it took over 20 years to convict him was the enourmous wealth that they have (had).

The difference is that the Skakels were just industrialsts and didn't "own" judges, police, etc.

MSM has always given the swimmer a pass because they approve of his social philosophy.

Marxism.

I didn't watch the whole show, but was cruising the channels and when I saw Coulter, I had to stop. Talk about perfect timing, Colmes gave her an opening and she took it. She said it and said it again, was smiling big time and obviously pleased with having upset Alan. Reagan's huge grin said how he felt about the comment. Sean was really quiet. Thank you Ann, it's about time somebody had the guts to stand up in public and say what we all know. I hope somebody can post a clip.

Ann was only answering a question and reacted no differently that the whole DNC has reacted ever since President Bush came into office in 2000 with the exception that Ann did it with style.

Fat Teddy got a pass because his last name was spelled K-E-N-N-E-D-Y.

Me too... I almost cried it was so beautiful. Poor Cartoon Holmes was appalled. "That was a low blow" he said. It kills me, it was okay to actually KILL the girl but a low blow to mention it. Go Figure.
