I spent part of this morning siting my 10x scope, on my Browning A-bolt 30.06, over at the Sleepy Creek shooting range. I can hit a pop bottle @ 300 yds. with no challenge. It makes a small hole going in, but it's really loud. I don't hunt, but...

That's one sweet-looking rifle. My dad made his own .270 from an old WWII Mauser 98. I got it after he passed on, and it needs to be sighted in as well. The only thing functionally wrong is that the scope gets in the way of the safety lever.

Right now my primary terrorist/criminal defense weapon is my old Remington 870, cut to a usable - and legal - barrel length with an extended mag. As I explain to people that ask about the required plug, "It isn't for game, it's for protection."
