"Who is "we"?"

The people in our military and intelligence agencies who are responsible with the WOT, along with the media.

The jihadists are good at manipulating public opinion; I am simply proposing ways to manipulate public opinion against them and demoralize them. I am very interested in approaches that would psychologically deligitimize suicide attacks, put them on the defensive, create a moral and psychological gap between suicide violence and Islam, and suggest alternate ways of living out their faith. We are always on the defensive from the PR point of view, and have done a lousy job on the psy ops front, a pathetic job, in my opinion. I'm just floating ideas, suggestions, theories, to try to turn that around. They may not work, but I think they are more realistic than bombing Mecca, interning or deporting all Muslims, or some of the other brilliant ideas that have been suggested here.

Is this what is also known as psycho-babble?

sorry dude, Islam won't yield to playing nice.

FWIW, you've gotten a bit of flack for this, but I think you're absolutely right.

This war needs to be fought not just by the quiet men in the shadows visiting death on the enemy's doorstep, and not just by the combat soldier delivering a louder message, but also by those inviting the enemy to reconsider what they are fighting for and why.

Every would-be jihadist we enlighten is more than just a soldier lost to their side, he is a drag on their daily efforts.

Still it's perhaps not quite as satisfying as taking him our on a field of Battle...
