If this is true, I'm glad it's a white male.
And that's coming from a Black male!
Although, I would have been happy with Ms. Brown.

I wouldn't give a crap what color or what gender the nominee is, as long as he/she/it can read the constitution and follow it.
Why are you glad he's white?

I would've been happy with Judge Brown, too. Maybe W is saving her for Chief when Rehnquist steps down.
Good pick, tho.

me, too. I love her.
Let's hope Rehnquist is just keeping her spot warm!

...Although, I would have been happy with Ms. Brown.Janice Rogers-Brown was my guess too before the name John G. Roberts was announced by the media late in the afternoon. I'm happy with the pick.

I think Bush will nominate Janice Rogers Brown when Rehinquist retires. He probably feels she needs a little time on the DC Circuit before she can move up, even though she is more than qualified right now. Roberts was on the DC Circuit for close to 2 years before he was picked for SCOTUS. If Rehinquist retires between now and this time next year, JRB is moving up.
Hopefully he also picks Clarence Thomas for CJ at the same time.
