Abortion Advocates Say Wal-Mart Should Stock Morning After Pills

Bentonville, AR (LifeNews.com) -- The world's largest retail chain is coming under fire from abortion advocates because it does not stock the morning after pill at any of its 3,000 locations. Wal-Mart operates more pharmacies in the United States than any other chain, but it will not stock the Plan B drugs, which sometime cause an abortion. Wal-Mart spokeswoman Jacquie Young told the Associated Press that the retailer doesn't carry the morning after pills for "business reasons." She declined to elaborate, but previous Wal-Mart representatives have said the decision is in response to customer concerns.
"We don't carry a lot of products," she added.
That upsets abortion advocates like Ted Miller of NARAL.
"For many rural women, Wal-Mart is their only pharmacy," Miller says. "That's what makes Wal-Mart's refusal to carry emergency contraception so disconcerting."
NARAL and Planned Parenthood are targeting Wal-Mart and other pharmacy chains with a lobbying campaign seeking to get them to stock the drugs and to post a sign saying all legal prescriptions will be honored.

Like other pharmacy chains such as Walgreens, Rite-Aid and Winn-Dixie, Wal-Mart allows pharmacists not to dispense a drug that violates their moral and religious views. However, the retailer asks pharmacists to help customers find the morning after pill drugs at another location.
Walgreens spokeswoman Carol Hively told the Associated Press that not every store the company runs has the Plan B drugs either. She indicated it may not be stocked in places where demand is lower.
"That's true of any prescription drug," she said.
Ya know...had these abortion activists been aborted themselves...they wouldn't be around to stand up for their so-called "right..."
"NARAL and Planned Parenthood are targeting Wal-Mart and other pharmacy chains with a lobbying campaign SEEKING TO GET THEM TO STOCK THE DRUGS AND ---TO POST-- A SIGN saying ALL legal prescriptions WILL be honored."
I would think that Walmart or any other retailer would tell these people to buzz off. If customers don't like it, let them go elsewhere. Why can't their doctor, Planned Parenthood or the 'free clinic' tell them where to find them?
Well, Ted, maybe you should get a pharmacist's license of your own, and then YOU can dispense it.
LIBs are on the wrong side all of the time.
"For many rural women, Wal-Mart is their only pharmacy," Miller says. "That's what makes Wal-Mart's refusal to carry emergency contraception so disconcerting."
Speaking for dumb-@ss rural women everywhere, I can say with confidence that we understand that Life begins at Conception.
This drug is an abortifacient, meaning it will cause a spontanious abortion if you take it while you are pregnant after your one night stand even if said "one nighter" happens behind the barn.
Suppose a Walnart pharmacist told a customer that they could find this pill up the street at XYZ Drug Store. The customer then dies after taking the pill, and the parents turn around and sue the pharmacist and Walmart? I think these people are nuts.
Too bad. I'm more upset about the destruction of human lives.
Ping-a-Ling, LuckyMom!
All of the time?... Now that I think about it, I guess you're right.
And blacks, in particular. This would have made Margaret Sanger very happy.
Margaret Sanger's "Negro Project"
I am reminded of this incident about 12 years ago or so:
Dr. Dean Edell was on one of the (S.F.) Bay Area TV stations as a regular during the local news program. He was taking phone calls from the viewers and a young lady (obviously black, because she spoke "Ebonics") asked the doctor, "How many abortions can you have before it causes a danger?"
He asked her to repeat the question, which she did. He then asked her how many had she had, and she said, "I don't know -- 8, 9, maybe more -- I can't remember!"
At this point, he pointed out that abortions should not used as birth control, and told her to "RUN, don't walk, to the nearest clinic!"
A Wal-Mart spokesman responded: "Our customer surveys indicate that demand from the debauched-whore segment of retail consumers is not yet strong enough to recommend stocking this product."
I wish these lefty nut cases would make up their minds, do they want people to shop at Walmart or don't they? Sheesh!
Walmart doesn't have to sell anything it doesn't want to.
Personaly i think those pills are a lawsuit waiting to happen, and that's the main reason Walmart won't stock them.
Could a pharmacy be held liable for filling a prescription? Unless they knew something about the woman's medical history that counterindicated the drug, and they provided it anyway, I'd think liability would be on the doctor (and then, only if he didn't discuss any risks or ignored sound medical practice).
LOL!
Lets see-- we have Plan A, and this pill is plan B, what about plan C, ?? Keep your legs closed!!!! Whoring around without proper protection isn't Walmart's fault, nor responsibility. Use rubbers, birth control, or MORAL JUDGEMENT AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
