Aruba is beautiful but there is gambling there, drugs and an unsavory feel about the island. When I was in Aruba I didn't like being off the beaten path. But the same feeling in other islands. St Martin, Bonaire, Cozumel, Barbados all felt different, safer. But the others I have been to I didn't feel safe. Caymens were okay but Jamaica, Aruba, St Lucia, Guadeloupe,,I wouldn't let my daughters out of my sight.

The way I would feel also. Horrible things can happen in spite of the very best of precautions. We all know that. We hear about it every day. It is just, IMHO, in this case, precaution was thrown to the wind in lieu of allowing these kids to have some freedom. Not worth the price to me.

Teenagers not only are more naive than they believe, they also think they are invincible and nothing can harm them. That is not a condemnation, it is just they way most of them are at that age.
