The post I had replied to, which is convienently placed below each post, was #512 in which sauropad was 'offended' at my suggestion that blacks were not responsible for the majority of crime in the US. It was in post #491 where I said:
Oh, and to say that the majority of crime is committed by any group other then whites seems a bit off, considering over 72% of the US is white. Now... if anyone has stats that show anything different, then that would be interesting.
Note that I was attacking the 'smut-troll' for being an idiot.
As for the thicker-skin statement, it was to sauropad in post #656 for being 'offended' at the mere thought that 12% of the US population may not actually be responsible for 50% of the crime.
Really, what has happened to FR that the members cannot follow a simple blog thread?
oh, and tiamat... the "It's emotional terrorism." line... **barf** next it'll be the 'think of the children' card (which you played). I don't agree with blog posting of offensive images, but that is why FR is moderated. Going on about a blog post being 'terrorism' really shows a lack of understanding of true terrorism.
In Europe they show the beheadings on TV. Some would say furthering the cause of the terrorists, to which I would agree to a point. Completely not showing it results in the situation we are in today... the population feeling like our boys are dying needlessly amongst mostly peaceful people. Personally, I believe showing a few of the beheadings (like the one of the 56 y.o. contractor 'pilot' 2 weeks ago) would have people in the US screaming for the whole area to be carpet bombed and paved for a new mini-mall.
As for the "smut-troll", I would sooner label it anti-marketing or negative-spin then terrorism. (Unless my daily spam is terrorism...) DU has had trolls lurking for years. FR threatens their hold on the propaganda machine. Are these posts bad for FR? yes. JR and crew do a great job zotting the morons.
