Russian Boxer Valuev Number One WBA Heavyweight
Russian boxer Nikolai Valuev has reached the top of the WBA heavyweight rating.
Earlier, Valuev, Russias largest boxer at 151 kilograms and a height of 215 centimeters, occupied the third place in the list.
Valuev will thus fight the current WBA heavyweight champion John Ruiz as the latter he defends his title.
The Russians manager, Wilfried Sauerland, was quoted by RTR-Sport television channel as saying he will take all measures to make the match between Valuev and Ruiz take place this year.
Valuev has so far won 43 matches and lost none. In 32 of the matches, he won with a knockout. He has reached the ninth place in the WBC rating list.
I'd love to see what a good counter puncher who can move around would do to this guy. I'd be shocked if he can carry that bulk around effectively for more than a few rounds.
The Jimmy Young/George Foreman fight from..1977? ..comes to mind.
There was a documentary made about mark kerr, a UFC fighter and his downfall. In the movie, they show Mark Coleman, who, while a big guy, fought a guy who looked like a T-Rex. tall and looked a lot like this guy but in better shape. Coleman ended up winning decisively.
This guy is pretty intimidating looking. he should pummel ruiz, I actually hope he does. Can't stand Ruiz and his whining.
As far as I know, the fight hasn't been scheduled yet.
Not that I wouldn't be interested, but do you have any particular reason for the suggestion?
You're a fag.
Fag.
Ruiz is a fag.
Wladimir Klitschko punched himself into exhaustion in that fight.
You have to give Brewster respect for his great chin though! He was on the verge of being stopped and weathered the storm. Then Wladimer couldn't pick his arms up any longer.
Wladimir Klitschko has had conditioning problems. He also doesn't have a fighter's heart and he has a questionable beard. I saw his other losses to Corrie Sanders and Ross Purity. He gave up in the 11th round to Purity. He hates to get pressured. His brother Vitali also quit against Chris Byrd.
Knock it off.
It is a great story, as it takes you back to that time... and not only the politics but of the man..... and what he accomplished. It is PG rated...I love watching it...

Who? Me?
Are you trying to convince me that some people have no sense of humor whatsoever?
7' tall and 333 lbs? sheesh
I have no sense of humor.
As for Coleman (who you accurately described as big) fighting a giant, and winning, I think that may not necessarily translate into boxing. In no-holds barred fighting there are more weapons available for use, unlike boxing where it is basically skills in pugilism. For instance i have had a far easier time with people larger than I am than with people smaller than i am, since in street fights (before i came to the US) anything goes. However a pure boxing fight does include certain size advantages.
Anyways, going back to the UFC, I'd love to see one of the Gracies (particularly Royce) go back there. I am 100% sure he would be destroyed by the current flock of fighters. The only reason Royce was a sensation back in the first few UFCs is because he was: 1) Skilled (got to give a man his dues ....Royce was good) and most importantly 2) No one had any real exposure/defense/offense when it came to working against the grappling arts (particularly Brazilian Jujitsu). And in a ring setting a striker without sufficient education in ground-work will get destroyed. However by the time i stopped watching the UFC the strikers (who had by now spent a lot of time learning ground moves and defenses) were regularly defeating the pure grapplers. Although i think by now everyone is no longer a pure anything .....even Maurice Smith (a muay thai kickboxer) is quite adept at Brazilian jujitsu.
Anyays .....let me get back to work. Have a blessed day. Spetz.
