I am always inerested in what other people think of my country. I visited London for almost two weeks last May and thoroughly enjoyed it. I did feel some anti-American sentiment, but not from everyone. Most people just took us at face value and responded to our friendliness and concerted efforts not to act like "the ugly American."

I would think that exit polls would be more accurate in the UK than the US. Dick Morris reported back in November that the exit polling for the U.S. elections were done by a company chock full of former CBS employees, no wonder they were inaccurate,

I know so little about their politics. I hope it doesn't hurt our friendship with them. I don't either, thanks for Ivan to take his valuable time to post on this thread.
But all of this speculation maybe premature, at least it's civil.
Sheesh I don't want to go through again the predictions of doom and gloom that swept FR like a plague, when the first American exit polls came out last November.

And the US election exit polling firms recruited liberal employees from 'deanlist.com' at the last minute, I doubt that would happen in the UK.
Plus, the early Kerry returns were running something like a 59-41% female to male ratio.

I doubt that Rush was "punking" his audience regarding the exit polls.
More likely he got his information from sources in the UK.
It's funny, because of UK election laws, American journalists/political pundits, could gain access to exit poll info well before the UK public.
If exit polls are looking bad for Labour, then there is one way to verify this-- look for last minute attempts by Gordy Brown to GOTV in the last few hours of voting.
On the other hand, this could just be an attempt by the UK Media to generate interest in this otherwise boring, boring election.

The British also do not like exit polls the majority of people I know feel that it is a secret ballot and that is the way it should stay so very often give the wrong info if asked.
I voted about an hour ago virtually empty polling station in out and voted in less than 10 minutes that that was mainly assisting dad who has 2 sticks. There was one Lib Dem rosette wearing guy about and that was it no sign of Tory or Labour supporters. I live in a Tory MP area but because I live in the town part of the constituency my local councilor is Labour. So local election will probably go to Labour but my MP Damien Green will be returned to power for the Conservatives.
Ivan, do you think that Damien stands a chance of a Shadow cabinet position or has he blown it?

I would think that if the Tories prevail tonight that this would be an amazing victory. Would you agree?
To: MadIvan
True Ivan us Conservatives I think are more loyal as well.

That's exactly what I thought about when I was in the car listening to Rush; I decided to WAIT before I worried about it.
Lots of "stuff" "sweeping" through here lately.
Thanks for answering; I'm on this thread to learn.

You can listen to Rush here, he may have some late exit numbers before he goes off air, the server keeps crashing because too many are trying to get on... http://www.wlsam.com/listenlive.asp#

I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that IBM did their website. So that's probably who to thank for the map :)
To: MadIvan
I will respectfully disagree with you there Ivan I like Michael Howard myself and my father have followed him ever since he became Folkestone and Hythe MP. Dad in fact was in Hythe Conservative Headquarters the night he was nominated.

Did you see the programme where each leader was asked questions separately by a studio audience Blair was sweating profusely during his questions.
