With the exception of Babylon 5 which I think it the best Sci - Fi show ever.

I have to differ. Don't get me wrong, B5 is great, but "Firefly" was the best Sci-fi series ever. Reasons:
1) good space physics: i.e. no sound in space.
2) No aliens that look just like humans with funny noses.
3) Strong conservative/pro-capitalism themes. Anti-big government.
4) excellent acting.
5) Truly scary bad guys (Niska, Government agents, Reavers).
If you haven't seen it, get the DVD's of the first (and only) season, then see the movie in September...if you are on this forum, and like Sci-fi AND don't love Firefly I will be shocked.

With the exception of Babylon 5 which I think it the best Sci - Fi show ever. Well, the first three seasons of the show anyway.

B5--I second that! Some of the special effects weren't so special, but it had great plots, great stories.

Unless they water it down next season, I consider the new BG every bit the equal to B5.

B5 was excellent... But I gotta admit, though it had cheezy low budget effects... its hard to beat

I'm old enough to believe Dr. Who was/is the best sci fi on the tube. It isn't about the special effects, it's about the stretch of imagination. Sadly, my cable company doesn't offer BBC currently, so I can't get the latest Dr. Who episodes being made. [Tom Baker was my favorite Dr., BTW, but Pertwee runs a close second.]

With the exception of Babylon 5 which I think it the best Sci - Fi show ever.I would say B-5 is number 3 behind Farscape and Stargate SG-1.
