FORT MYERS, Fla. -- An 81-year-old woman preparing to take a test drive at a car dealership hit her husband, a salesman, a car and a tree before running into a wall. "She must have panicked," said Joe Sica, sales manager at Honda of Fort Myers.

I didn't know a car could "shoot backward" of it's own Accord. Well, after all, it WAS a Honda dealership.

Test drive accidents are more common than you might think. People are looking at the car, not traffic or the road. A common accident is people pulling out into traffic and getting hit during a test drive.
Thats why many dealerships on busy streets will have the salesman drive the car to a less congested area first before turning over control to the customer.

"If it was a SUV... "
A SUV would take the whole neighborhood down. Thank God it was a Honda Accord.

I got a speeding ticket on my last test drive, you really aren't at your best during a test drive.

LOL!
I remember the first time behind the wheel of an SUV.
Complete personality change.
First thing I asked was "What can I run over in this?"
Then my Sarge told me to get out of the Humvee.

States should seriously think about re-testing senior citizens every 2 or 3 years once they pass the age of 70. I agree. But won't happen because the AARP will cry age discrimination and insist that seniors' sensibilities are more important than the lives of accident victims.
